🇮🇩 Indonesia stops renting compute and starts owning it: Indosat launches Zankore at 1GW — TNGlobal · Permalink
Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Ooredoo Group, NVIDIA and Nokia launched Zankore, targeting up to 1GW of AI-factory capacity. Phase one delivers roughly 200MW on GB300 NVL72 systems in the first half of 2027.
Positive-sum angle: A domestic operator holding the compute contract lets SEA enterprises negotiate capacity with a telco they already bill through, rather than queue behind a foreign cloud's other regions.
🇮🇩 The AI cloud's first Asian address is Jakarta, not Singapore: CoreWeave contracts 360MW — TNGlobal · Permalink
The US AI cloud will own and operate three Indonesian data centres carrying 360MW of contracted IT power, online in 2028 — its first facilities anywhere in Asia-Pacific.
Positive-sum angle: That is about a tenth of CoreWeave's contracted power. Indonesia has stopped being the overflow market for capacity Singapore will not permit, and become the first stop.
💰 $2B at a $10.5B valuation, and some of it is earmarked for Indonesia: Firmus raises — TNGlobal · Permalink
Blackstone Tactical Opportunities, Coatue, NVIDIA and Jane Street backed the Australian AI-factory builder, which keeps a Singapore office. The capital funds Project Southgate and early development in Indonesia.
🇻🇳 A billion Weixin wallets can now pay a Hanoi noodle shop: NAPAS links the QR rails — TNGlobal · Permalink
Vietnam's national payment switch connected VietQRGlobal to Weixin Pay with BIDV settling, reaching more than a billion Chinese users. It is the third China rail NAPAS has opened in 2026, after UnionPay and Alipay.
Positive-sum angle: Every merchant already showing a VietQR sticker inherits the corridor without new hardware, which is why the third rail costs far less to add than the first one did.
