A hangar draws RM523 million; a chilli price outruns the menu.

Boring assets · daily prices · zero-marginal tools

Someone's payday
- Who knew engine repair was the hot IPO? RM523 million chased GTA's RM22 million public tranche — The Edge Malaysia
GTA Holdings, which overhauls helicopter and fixed-wing engines at Subang, lists on Bursa's ACE Market today. Its public tranche drew 13,797 applications worth RM523.35 million, 22.16 times the shares offered at 35 sen.
Positive-sum angle: Maintenance compounds where assembly does not: every engine repaired in the region keeps the tooling, the type certificates and the technicians local. Regional operators, the airport's parts suppliers and the apprentices cycling through the hangar all gain when capital reaches a workshop.
What's the impact: Operators running unglamorous technical services should read the multiple, not the sector label; Bursa priced a Subang hangar at RM452 million. Founders in calibration, testing and repair work across Malaysia should start assembling audited accounts this year.
Your costs
- Sambal is now the most expensive thing on the plate: cabai rawit hits Rp84,000 a kilo — ANTARA
Bank Indonesia's PIHPS panel recorded red bird's eye chilli at Rp84,000 a kilogram on Monday, up 3.19 percent in a day. Curly red chilli rose 3.4 percent to Rp57,750; eggs held at Rp29,650.
Positive-sum angle: The central bank publishes this panel free every morning, so a warung owner can reprice before the supplier calls. Every operator reading the same numbers narrows the gap between the trader who knows and the cook who finds out at the market.
What's the impact: Food operators in Jakarta and Surabaya should reprice sambal-heavy items weekly rather than by menu print run, and move volume toward shallots, down 0.91 percent to Rp38,100. Kitchen margin now shifts faster than a printed menu.
The tool
- Zero per token: Singapore's Estha runs meeting notes and documents on the office Mac — TNGlobal
Estha launched six business agents that run on Apple Silicon: meeting intelligence, document processing, slide making, data analysis. After the model downloads, the workflows run offline, with no metered cloud-inference charges.
Positive-sum angle: Local inference turns a machine already bought into recurring capacity, doing work a per-seat subscription used to meter. Firms holding client files under confidentiality terms gain a compliance answer alongside the saving.
What's the impact: Accounting and law practices in Kuala Lumpur and Manila sitting on files they cannot send offshore should pilot local agents this quarter. The Bahasa and Thai document versions do not exist yet; that wrapper is unbuilt.
