Capital lands on SEA's physical layer: Singapore's chips, Vietnam's classrooms.

AI's real chip bottleneck is packaging, not silicon: Powertech puts $400M into a Broadcom JV in Singapore — TNGlobal · Permalink
Taiwan's Powertech will invest $400M in a Singapore joint venture with Broadcom to build fan-out panel-level packaging — the fine-geometry routing behind Broadcom's and AMD's AI chips. The deal is pending Taiwan regulatory sign-off.
Positive-sum angle: Singapore climbs the semiconductor value chain from assembly-and-test toward advanced packaging — the step that makes AI chips performant — pulling equipment makers, substrate suppliers and specialist talent into the region behind it.
Schooling becomes infrastructure in Vietnam: KKR-backed EQuest and Phu My Hung commit $40M to a 2,500-seat K-12 campus — DealStreetAsia · Permalink
EQuest, the KKR-backed education group, and developer Phu My Hung will co-develop a $40M K-12 complex in Bac Ninh's Hong Hac City — 22,000 sqm for 2,500 students, piling begun 18 July, first intake targeted 2028.
Positive-sum angle: Master-planned 'education cities' let a developer, a curriculum operator and private equity compound the same land, turning Vietnam's demographic bulge into Cambridge-pathway classrooms instead of leaving it to a strained public system.
