It reads like a charge of hypocrisy. It is worse than that. Hypocrisy would at least mean you were confused.

Watch how fast you answer instead. The friend at the kopitiam describing the job that has been quietly eating him for two years — you had the sentence ready before he finished it. Leave. You knew in the first month.

That speed is the evidence. You were not working it out for him; you were reading it off something you had already finished, and nobody is that fluent about a problem they have never sat inside.

So the audit this morning is not what you should do. It is which of your own answers you keep handing out. The colleague you told to ask for the raise, the cousin you told to see the doctor now and not after the quarter, the friend you told to apologise first because the relationship outlives the argument.

You believed every word. You got the clarity; they got the risk.

Turn one around and the same sentence goes strange. Leave the job becomes a mortgage, a school term, a conversation with your mother you can already hear. The advice did not get worse.

It just arrived somewhere it has consequences.

So today, take one sentence you said to someone else this month and do the smallest version of it yourself, before lunch. Send the message. Ask for the thing you told them to ask for.

You were never missing the answer. You were only ever sending it to the wrong address.
