Data centres need their own power: Singapore's ESR buys Aquila's 1.6-gigawatt clean-energy platform
ESR, a Singapore-based owner of warehouses and data centres, agreed to buy all of Aquila Clean Energy APAC: 1.6 gigawatts of solar, wind and battery projects across Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Price undisclosed.
Positive-sum angle: ESR says demand for warehouses, data centres and power now moves together. A founder selling energy or battery-monitoring software in Asia-Pacific now has one buyer that owns all three.
