Singapore could drop to two big mobile networks: StarHub is in talks to buy M1 from Keppel
StarHub, Singapore's second-largest mobile operator, told the stock exchange on 23 September it is in early talks for M1, the third-largest. No price yet; an earlier M1 sale to Simba, valued at US$1.1 billion, collapsed this year.
Positive-sum angle: Both buyer and seller sit in the orbit of Temasek, Singapore's state investor. Any founder reselling mobile plans or building on telco APIs should price in one fewer network to negotiate with.
